Bubba Wallace Adds to Sponsorships with DoorDash

MOORESVILLE, NC – Bubba Wallace announced during the Today Show (NBC) on Friday morning that DoorDash has signed on as a primary sponsor for seven NASCAR Cup Series races this season on the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports Chevrolet team.

During a time when other teams are fighting to stay alive in NASCAR, the RPM and Wallace combination has already signed Cash App, for five primary races, and Columbia Sportswear, which is a personal and team agreement.

Door Dash, a restaurant-delivery service, is on board for seven races. It’s been a productive couple of weeks for RPM and Wallace. Yes, the exposure from the “rope debacle” at Talladega Superspeedway, followed by an outpouring of support by his fellow drivers, did have some positives.

The good news about all three companies is the fact they are new to the NASCAR partnerships, and made multi-year commitments. The great news is it keeps the famous No. 43 of RPM in business at a more competitive and funded level than they were a few months ago.

“Biggest deal, one of the things I’ve been praying for a really long time,” Wallace told NBC’s Today. “These last couple weeks, we’ve announced a lot of new partnerships coming in — DoorDash, Columbia, Beats. I’m just a walking ambassador right now, but I love it. Very thankful for all these companies and organizations to want to be a part of this journey.

“DoorDash has been great to work with so far. We’ve had really good conversations and they stand up for the same values that I share about unity, openness and wanting to be a part of the communities that are in need in these trying times right now in our nation, to make it a better place for everybody.”

The partnership between RPM, Wallace and DoorDash goes beyond the on-track action.

“This partnership enables us to engage with the racing community through one of the most exciting and forward-thinking athletes in the sport,” said Tony Xu, DoorDash chief executive officer and co-founder. “We’re proud to support an ambassador like Bubba with on-track excellence and off-track commitments and values that are so well aligned with ours.”

DoorDash make their debut at Daytona for the road course race, Cash App will be on board at Dover the following weekend. Just like DoorDash, Cash App is making their commitment more about what everyone involved believes.

“Bubba Wallace is a once-in-a-generation talent and we are proud to partner with Richard Petty Motorsports to usher in this new era of racing,” said Garrett McManus, artistic development lead for Cash App. “We stand with Bubba and we are thrilled to team up on the next part of his journey.”

This is Cash App’s first partnership with a professional sports team, and its first traditional athletic sponsorship.
